My name is Edmond Darakgie, I´m 52 years and I have a pizzeria in Söderhamn.
My brother had a pizzeria, and everyone wants to start their own business. I saved money and I bought an old pizzeria. I knew the owner of the building where the pizzeria was situated. I got a lot of experience from working with my brother.
And I received some start your own business contribution from the chamber of commerce (AF). I got salary for six months then. We worked 12 hours a day, Monday till Sunday. We had 2 days off, Christmas eve and new year eve. We have worked a lot. The family suffered the first years. But I have had my company since 1991 now, so hard work pays off.
So you have to:
- Work hard.
- Keep your health.
- Deliver good service and quality.
Main success factor from my point of view is:
Have a goal and work hard for it. Dare to start even though it is hard time now. It is not always easy, but you will do it only if you want. Everything is possible if you know what to do. Learn a lot about how to run your own business.
You also need a lot of skills if you want to succeed. For example, you need:
- You must be nice with people
- the restaurant must be always clean
- You should deliver good service and good pizza
